The International Preparatory Academy (IPA)
is specifically designed to prepare qualified students for the
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme during their ninth and
tenth grade years. The two-year program for freshmen and sophomores
combines a global perspective within the curricular pre-requisites with
the study and organizational skills necessary to be successful in the IB
Diploma Programme.
Qualifications
Interested students must be motivated
academically and portray this motivation through their coursework while
maintaining a B grade point average. In addition, students must achieve
the Pass or Pass Plus level in math and English on the 7th and 8th grade ISTEP. Students interested in the IPA must be academically eligible to enroll in the following 9th grade courses:
* Algebra I or Geometry H
* English 9H
* ICP or Biology H
* Geography and History of the World H
* French I/II or Spanish I/II
Application Process
Application
to the International Preparatory Academy implies that a student plans
to participate fully in the International Baccalaureate Diploma
Programme.
